We all know that It is difficult to cast Cover Slabs and Roof Slabs on site. It requires formwork, reinforcing steel and concrete. After casting, the formwork has to be removed through the manhole. Moreover, concrete quantities are often small and the site far removed from ready-mix facilities. Site casting is time consuming and often of poor quality and expensive.
The Cover Slab carries the load and must be designed by a competent engineer. A weak slab may collapse and end up in a disaster. An over-designed slab is just wasting the Client’s money.
Vanstone’s structural concrete section specializes in transportable roof slabs, trench covers, storm water structures and more. Vanstone has over the years manufactured a multitude of special Cover and Roof Slabs of every shape, size and load bearing capacity.
For a draft design and quote, the following information is required:
– Drawings if possible,
– All dimensions,
– Required equipment like manhole covers, air vents, anchor bolts, service entrances etc.,
– Expected loading (worst case) on cover,
– Quantity required and where delivered.
Vanstone’s engineer will do a draft design and a quote. If you are happy with the quote, Vanstone will manufacture and deliver it for you.
